at Johnson and Wyandotte County Detention and Rehabilitation Centers

to read scripture and administer the Holy Eucharist.

"I was in prison and you visited me."  Matthew 25:36

Prison ministry supports and coordinates outreach ministry offered by parish-based volunteers to the imprisoned, offering spiritual and emotional assistance to inmates and their families.

We are a group of men and women volunteers who offer prayer services, bible study and one-on-one counseling to the youth and adults who are incarcerated in Johnson and Wyanodotte County facilities

Volunteer

Read the bible to youth or adults weekly or monthly, depending on your schedule.

Spiritual Correspondence

We have vetted over 50 inmates who are Benedictine Oblates and have responded with notes of joy from receiving Christmas and Easter cards.  You can use a pen name to write at least once a month to a fellow Catholic who longs for spiritual fellowship.
